Isaac saw his new room, his own desk, locker (a MUCH skinnier locker), and met his teacher. Sadly, he knew NO one. Absolutely not one kid he knew from his class last year. Out of 21 kids, nobody (and there was 24 kids in his last years class). WTH?! And yet, another student had the same thing happen to her, but at least she had 1 she knew and her mom had the same reaction as we...WTH?! Knowing this is making us upset and sad. Isaac is also bummed about it but is excited to get back. The teacher was humbled and said that they try to have at least have 1 kid from the the same class. And then as we took a walk around the other classrooms we noticed that the other 5 1st grade classes EACH had 3-4 kids from his class last year. We know all about requests and such but that is wrong, not fair, and frankly,...NOT cool. Its making us think that the teacher he got is the teacher that gets the scraps...the kids of parents that didn't request or is the teacher no one wants. Stuff like this makes me want to homeschool more and more, would LOVE to, always would have loved to, but I know my husband and family wouldn't agree or understand and think that homeschooling is wrong and is the devil. I thought the same thing until Isaac went off to preschool (second year). I could go on and on about homeschooling but Ill leave it as that. We will see how the first weeks go. And if he doesn't like the surroundings, the teacher or her teaching, then maybe we'll think about switching teachers. I have a few in mind, but won't make any decisions right away. Isaac will tell us himself.
We would have requested IF we knew a teacher (we should have, and just pulled names of a teacher out of a hat, would have gotten a better chance that is for sure). Thankfully, for the next coming grades, we do KNOW, so this won't be an issue anymore...thank GOD!!!!! Just got to remember that we got the best kindergarten teacher last year and that you can't have everything you want. And of you do, life would be boring and youd never meet anyone new. And chances are, next year he may even be reunited with old classmates while having 'new' classmates as well. But still, pisses me off.

6 Months and Going Strong
B had his 6 month followup CT scan last Friday... the 13th. As some of you remember, he had his surgery (cancer) on a Friday the 13th, EXACTLY 9 months ago last Friday. So Friday the 13th isn't a well liked date around here. But thankfully the Friday the 13th curse was stopped. His CT scan came out CLEAR. Good for another 3 months, which ends up being the month that started it all...NOVEMBER. Hopefully this Thanksgiving, we will be and feel thankful since it was hard to be and think thankful with what was all happening last year.

Relay for Life

The end of last month marked the Relay for Life in Kandiyohi County. This year was a bit different since we were actually apart of it. We surprised Brandon with luminaries that the boys and Kianna decorated for him. To find them we actually had to walk the whole lap. We started to walk right where they were put, go figure. The boys were so excited to show him what they did.

Welcome furbaby, Whisper!

On Saturday, we took a short drive to the animal shelter to "look" at the kitties. Even tho Ive said that I wanted an orange one (never had one of that color growing up), there was this one specific kitten that drew me to it. A Black/White one, named Whisper. And on the white there are some cute black spots. I HAD to get it. So with that said....our family grew. Welcome furbaby, Whisper.

Good-bye, Felix
The day has come, sooner than I thought. After almost 10 years, Felix is not with us. He was our first "baby". We got him soon after moving into our house when he was only weeks old. Seeing him develop his meow to loosing his baby teeth. He even tolerated all 3 kids well, with no nips or bites, tho he didn't like me when I brought them home from the hospital,..don't blame him, lol. And far most, the best bed hogger ever (worse than the kids were). Best cat ever.
Felix had to be put down due to the reoccuring crystals and part behavioral problem. We didn't want to go into more treatments because we don't know if it would help or not and also we needed the money more. So the decision was made to have him put down. The worse, explaining to the kids that Felix won't be coming home with me and hearing all 3 say goodbye Felix, as I took Felix out the door (we had a longer hugging and kissing bond session before leaving). What made it better was to say that he won't be alone since the neighbors old dog, Boggs, will be with him. I reassured Isaac that he will not be in any pain what-so-ever, since he asked (about shots).
As for more pets in the future...don't know. Id love to have another cat, an orange one this time, since I never had that color of cat before, even growing up, and Id also "like", notice like, a teeny tiny dog (that stays teeny and tiny). Maybe one that can be litter trained....if possible, lol. But Carson IS allergic to cats, along with dogs, so we just don't know. And I myself developed an allergy to cats, after being pg with the kids. Each cat has different dander and plus we dont know how Carson would react to being around a dog all day, everyday. He does get flushed looking (Kianna does also, ugh-guessing she may be allergic too) when visiting people with dogs. So with that said, dogs may be out of the picture all together. Gerbel (can carson handle the bedding with his allergies or possibly the gerbel itself)? Fish again (but in a personal sized bowl this time)? Bird (handle the noise)? From now til then, we will settle with our Zhu-Zhu Pet.
